In the year 1990, some parents of ‘Special Adults Children’ came together under the leadership of Adhar’s founder Late Shri M. G. Gore to find out a permanent solution for their constant worry like “After us what? Who will take care of our special children?”. This “Association of Parents of Mentally Retarded Children” is working for mentally retarded adult. We have built residential complexes named ‘ADHAR’ on 2 locations : Thakurwadi, Mulgaon at a distance of 9 km. from Badlapur & Pimpalgaon (Dukra) in Nashik District.

Shri. M. G. Gore, Founder Chairman of ADHAR, conceived a unique concept of having life time care providing institution formed and run by parents of Special Adults. Like Aadhar, there are organizations that work for the needy.
Presently Dnyanprabodhan is taking care 25 intellectually disabled children from poor families. Mr. Rohit Bagade Co-ordinating the project very enthusiastically with the support of his team.
Also, Mr. Samadhan Sawant started ‘Sahawas Bahuddeshiya Sanstha’ in 2015 with the help of few of his local friends from Sonbardi. Today he has 20 intellectually disabled children from poor families from nearby area.

Life at Adhar...

Games & recreation is an integral part of Adhar. Various indoor and outdoor games like cricket, football, carom, Badminton, running, skipping are conducted to keep them fit and trim. Residents are exposed their talents like Dance, singing, drawings, playing the musical instruments, products made by them at Vocational Training Centers and other hidden talents in front of visitors. Round the clock medical services are available at the campus. Individual case study and counseling of residents & parents is the routine process carried out by our Clinical Psychologist and Social Workers. We celebrate all the festivals at Adhar
