Madhavrao Gore Seva Gaurav Award for Excellence in Intellectual Disability Services
Madhavrao Gore Seva Gaurav Award is a prestigious annual national award presented by the Association of Parents of Mentally Retarded Children (Adhar). On the occasion of Shri Madhavrao Gore’s birth centenary, this award was instituted in the year 2024.
This award will be given to organizations that undertake innovative initiatives, implement effective methodologies, and make consistent efforts to improve the quality of life of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Nomination Process & Evaluation Criteria
The Madhavrao Gore Seva Gaurav Award, a national recognition presented by Adhar, honors the exceptional work of NGOs in India supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Named after Shri Madhavrao Gore, a pioneer in the field, the award celebrates organizations that demonstrate innovation, best practices, and a deep commitment to the cause.
Below are the details of the Nomination Process, Evaluation Criteria, and Required Documents.
Eligibility
- The nominee must be a registered NGO in India with at least seven years of active work supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- The NGO must show a proven track record of positive impact and sustainable programs.
- NGOs receiving significant government funding are not eligible for this award.
- Organizations that have received the award in the last 5 years are not eligible for re-nomination.
Evaluation Criteria for Nominations:
Nominations for the Madhavrao Gore Seva Gaurav Award will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:

Nomination Process
Stage 1: Initial Submission
- Deadline for Stage 1 Submission: 30th June 2025
- Nominees are required to submit duly filled Stage -1 Nomination form (available on the Adhar website)
Stage 2: Detailed Submission
- Shortlisted organizations will be asked to submit more detailed documentation, including comprehensive organizational and program details.( Form will be shared to the shortlisted NGO’s)

Required Documents
- Registration Certificate of the organization
- Memorandum of Association/Trust Deed
- FCRA Certificate (if applicable)
- PAN Card
- Tax Exemption Certificates (80G and 12A)
- Audited Financial Statements for the last 3 years
- Income Tax Returns for the last 3 consecutive financial years
- Annual Reports for the last 3 years
- MCA Registration Certificate (Form CSR-1)
- Certificate from NITI Aayog with Unique ID
- Self-Declaration: A statement confirming:
- 1. The organization has never been blacklisted and has no history of financial irregularities or criminal activities.
- 2.The organization has no religious or political affiliations
- Video Documentation: A short video showcasing the organization’s impact, programs, and beneficiaries
Selection Process
- Jury Review: A distinguished panel of experts in social work, intellectual disabilities, and related fields will evaluate all nominations.
- Final Decision: The jury’s decision will be final and binding.
- Field Review: A site visit will be conducted to assess the impact and operations of the shortlisted organizations
- Award Ceremony: The Madhavrao Gore Seva Gaurav Award will be presented annually in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on the 4th Sunday of November
